DITCHING high amounts of sugary foods from your diet could help with losing weight. Consistent with the NHS, high levels of fat and sugars without being burnt off can become body fat.

An excessive amount of sugar within the diet can cause several health-related problems including obesity. While it's not advised to chop sugar from your diet completely, lowering on intake can help shed the pounds along side exercise.

Speaking to Chudonnews, Wayne Starkey, Co-Founder of the thin Food Co explained how Britons can reduce their sugar intake.

“The initiative in lowering your sugar consumption is having the ability to recognise low sugar products. Many products like pasta sauces, soups and prepared meals contain far more sugar than you'll think – effectively they're ‘hidden sugar’. 

“When shopping, confirm to see these levels as you'll be unknowingly consuming large amounts of sugar under the idea that these things are good for you.

“The traffic signal system has made it easier to recognise exactly what proportion sugar, salt, fat and saturates are in each serving. The colors green, amber and red will indicate if there's a healthy or unhealthy amount of every category per 100g contained inside.”

Foods and drinks full of sugar tend to be mentioned as empty calories because they supply little or no nutrition for the body also as completely lacking in protein, a nutrient essential for weight loss because it promotes feelings of fullness. 

This means you'll often feel hungry after consuming food which can cause overeating and weight gain.
